No, not the season, or the fact that the sun goes down sooner, or any of that. I mean the time of year I have to renew my reg.
^ That amount gets me through 1 vehicle for one year...

I just did this on Saturday, but I paid a whopping $36.00 to renew for a year (Pennsylvania). Where the hell do you live that it costs so damn much?

One more reason I won't buy new. Not to mention GA wants it all up front. A flat 7%, then its $40 a year afterwards. Makes it hard to justify changing cars every couple of years when you have to pay an additional $3-4k to get a tag.

You should have seen how much it cost me when I had the S4 (they base it on book value, the Jeep is booked at about $35k, the Audi was booked at $55k... just under a grand for the year)

My personal property tax to the county was just over 900 bucks for 3 cars this year. Only owe the state 40 (plus ~30 for inspection/emissions) bucks a piece for registration.
It's a racket.

Yea we avoid personal property tax on vehicles out here so it kind of evens out a bit,

After briefly looking over Nevada's registration procedure which includes taxes, it pays big dividends to drive an old car that's worthless on paper.

It really does. Sadly, I needed one, mostly reliable vehicle, so...
